I don't know if Tahno will come back in the Legend of Korra but at least his hair made a comeback. :iconhandsomeonionplz:
Really though, I found a few complaints on tumblr saying how useless Tahno is after losing his water bending. At least he left some sort of impression. (And I just started to like him too.) This is from episode 8 "When Extremes Meet"
